Ingredients for making cod with mashed potatoes and peas

  1. Green peas frozen 1 pack
  2. Cod fillet 500 grams
  3. Potato 6 pieces
  4. Egg 1 piece
  5. Flour 1 cup
  6. Milk 1/2 cup
  7. Lemon juice 2 tablespoons
  8. Thick cream 2 teaspoons
  9. Vegetable oil for frying
  10. Salt to taste
  11. Pepper to taste

Frying pan, spatula, plate, whisk, blender, paper towels.


Step 1: prepare the ingredients.

Wash and dry the fish fillet, peel the potatoes, and put the rest of the ingredients closer, since to save time it is easier to cook everything at once.

Step 2: chop the potatoes.

First, peeled potatoes cut into slices or a thick straw. And dry on paper towels.

Step 3: prepare the batter.

Mix the egg, flour, milk, 1 tablespoon lemon juice, salt and pepper. And beat well with a fork or a whisk, so that you get a homogeneous dough, similar in thickness to pancake. If necessary, you can add a little more flour.

Step 4: prepare pea puree.

Cook the peas according to the instructions indicated on its packaging. After pouring water from it, pour peas in a plate and chop (you can blender) in mashed potatoes. Add the remaining lemon juice, cream, salt and pepper. Stir pea puree.

Step 5: fry the potatoes.

Heat a lot of oil in a pan and fry the potatoes in it until golden brown. Throw the finished potatoes on a paper towel to get rid of excess fat.

Step 6: fry the cod fillet.

In another pan, also in a rather large amount of oil (but smaller than that of potatoes), fry the fish fillet. First, dip the pieces of cod into the batter, then into the pan and hold 3 minutes from each side.

Step 7: serve cod with potatoes and pea puree.

Put on a plate fried potatoes, a little pea puree and baked fish. Serve hot. The taste is such that you lick your fingers! But how simple is it?

- You can add a salad of fresh vegetables or cabbage to this dinner, it will not hurt, on the contrary, it will make the dish tastier. But the sauce, in my opinion, is completely unnecessary.
